When I switch off video the load quickly returns to normal. I experience this problem across different video calling software: Skype, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom all see the CPU load go wild. When using the webcam for video calling the CPU load becomes extreme and the ventilator is working overtime. This week I took use of a new MacBook Air 2020. Has anyone else had this problem or have a solution to my problem? I would hate to lose all of my files since a lot of them are my photographs (I'm a student photographer).MacBook Air 2020 High CPU load when using video Hello everyone, None of this happened until I installed Mojave. And the Finder windows are doing the same thing. Along with that, a majority of the app icons in my dock had the static look from the day before. When I tried opening the app, the computer gave me a message saying that the application was corrupt and that I had to close it. Everything was fine until I tried to open Photos. Next day, plugged it in and turned it on. ![]() So I restarted it and everything was fine. ![]() The next day, it died while I was using it (normal, wasn't bothered by it), and when I charged it and plugged it in, the screen looked like static (unfortunately I did not take a picture). ![]() I have currently the MacBook Pro 13 inch, the Mid-2012 model with an upgraded memory (from 8GB to 16GB).So when Mac OS Mojave was released, I downloaded and installed it immediately. ![]()
